Sensory and emotional regulation are critical for childrenâs overall development and success, especially in a school environment. Sensory regulation enables children to process and manage external stimuli like noise, light, and movement, which might otherwise cause them to feel overwhelmed or anxious. Emotional regulation allows students to control their responses to stress, frustration, or conflict, helping them stay calm and focused. When children struggle with these skills, it can impact their ability to learn, socialize, and participate in activities. Prioritizing sensory and emotional regulation fosters self-awareness, resilience, and positive interactions, creating a more inclusive learning environment. This grant will help fund a new curriculum to support emotional regulation and social skills. In addition, it will also be used to purchase sensory items and other emotional regulation tools that all students can benefit from.
