Middle school students are enjoying taking photography classes but unfortunately our supplies and equipment are limited. With class sizes of 25 students or more, students are sharing 6 digital cameras. Often the cameras break or need repairs, further limiting their access to cameras. The parts and repairs can be costly, and deplete our budget. I would like to use the classroom cash grant to purchase more Canon DSLR digital cameras, SD Cards, Chargers, and SD Card Readers . The other purchase we are in desperate need of is a quality color printer in our classroom. Students are working hard and creating photographs that deserve to be displayed. Displaying the photographs creates a sense of pride in our school community, and also inspires other students to take a photography class. I have personally witnessed the power of artwork and how it can build confidence and self worth in children. Lastly, we would like to purchase software to edit our photos and begin a digital art program at GMS.
