As a dedicated middle school science teacher, I have always strived to provide my students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences. In the past, I have often covered classroom expenses out of my own pocket to ensure my students have the materials they need. However, with the current economic challenges, balancing the needs of my family while keeping the spark of learning alive has become increasingly difficult. In my science curriculum, we cover topics such as energy types, and one of the key lessons involves the use of hand-crank generators. I have found affordable options for these generators on Amazon for approximately $22 each, and I would need about 10 to effectively run the lesson with my 140 students. These tools would provide my students with an invaluable opportunity to physically engage with the concept of energy, rather than passively watching videos.
